Spring 2007:  March roared in like a lion with a wild snow storm on the 2nd.  Fortunately the weather quickly settled and began to warm.  By mid month the apricots began to bloom, followed by pluots and then nectarines.  Activity began to pick up on the ranch as our crew pruned our nearly 2,000 trees.  With the arrival of the blossoms A few days later the bees arrived for pollination.  Becca had to reset the temperature alarm so we could monitor the temperature during the night.  If the temperature dipped too low, we would need to run the wind machine to warm the air around the trees.

Dave and Ron made a quick over night trip down to the Columbia River and had an opportunity to fish... quite successfully!

Connie & Becca have been keeping busy.  They volunteered to run the children's Sunday School program for 13 weeks this Spring.  With ages 3 to 9 their hands are full!  In March Connie & Becca also did a formal tea demo for the Yakima Christian Women's Luncheon.  They were quite a hit, and all the ladies (about 55) enjoyed tasting the treats they brought to illustrate what can be served at a formal tea.

In April we celebrated Dave's 50th birthday!  Wow.  Hard to believe he has hit the big 5 - 0 already.  In May Connie and Becca made a 3 day trip to Portland.  They had lots of fun shopping and dining at a few of the great restaurants in the city.  The Multnomah Falls, Chinese Gardens and Japanese Gardens were all must sees on their list.  Toward the end of May Jimmie and Becca held their 2nd annual Sunnyslope Ranch party.  About 30 to 35 our of friends and neighbors joined us for a barbecue and an opportunity to enjoy a beautiful Saturday afternoon at the ranch.  It was a great day.
